Small Group Art Classes
Amy offers small group summer camps outdoor at her Charlotte home, for students aged 5 – 12, with unique themes each week.

Portraits
Amy has created portraits both intuitively and through observation to emulate the presence of figures on canvas.

Figurative Work
Amy’s focal area is around abstract expressionist figurative art. Creating images that push the boundary of perspective.

Figurative Work
I have worked with incorporating cold wax with oil paint, allowing me to build and scrape the surface, often revealing collaged materials or the previous painting. Through building the surface, I incorporate figure and ground, reworking the painting so the viewer often sees multiple images. Hopefully the viewer will question what they see, what image or surface came first and how does it read as a whole?
Portraits
Amy has been inspired to create various portrait series of famous people through history. She created a series of Charles Mingus portraits, of female artists (Mary Cassatt, Georgia O’Keeffe, Agnes Marin and Yoko Ono) and a series translating black and white photographs from the 1930’s and 40’s.
